چکیده
Around 5% of patients receiving renal replacement therapy in Spain are on peritoneal dialysis. Anatomical integrity of the peritoneum is essential since increased hydrostatic pressure due to peritoneal accumulation of dialysis fluid predisposes to abdominal or pelvic hernias or chest leakage via the embryonic pneumatoenteric recess.1 We report the case of a 3-year-old girl with a history of Finnish-type congenital nephrotic syndrome, receiving postnephrectomy peritoneal dialysis since the age of 2. Fourteen months after starting peritoneal dialysis, she was admitted to our hospital due to severe dyspnea, with massive right hydrothorax on chest X-ray. To rule out pleuroperitoneal leak, a peritoneal

99mTc-octreotide scintigraphy, performed during the following up a 58-year old man with neuroendocrine tumor demonstrated massive hepatomegaly demonstrating multiple areas of increased and decreased uptake. Due to severe hepatomegaly concurrence of any other abdominal soft tissue lesions could not be excluded. A 99mTc-sulfur colloid scan was done and thoroughly compared wi...

When Tc-99m-sulfur colloid was introduced as an ideal liver-spleen agent in nuclear medicine, many other types of colloids followed by different manufacturers. They hoped to find a suitable colloidal agent, contrary to sulfur colloid, which is easy to use, and less sensitive to the low contamination of aluminum ions. One of this type of colloid agents, is Tc-99-tin-colloid which is prepar...

متن کاملCongenital Nephrotic Syndrome: A Cases Report
Congenital nephrotic syndrome (CNS) can be caused by neonatal infections and renal diseases that usually occur in early infancy. The most common CNS is the Finnish type, which is an autosomal recessively inherited disease characterized by intrauterine onset of massive proteinuria. In this study, we presented a preterm neonate confirmed as the first case of CNS in Iran by genetic study, who was ...
متن کاملMinimal lymphatic leakage in an infant with chylothorax detected by lymphoscintigraphy SPECT/CT.
A 7-month-old girl with history of persistent left chylous pleural effusion was referred for lymphoscintigraphy. A previous chest computed tomography (CT) scan demonstrated a small to moderate-sized left pleural effusion but could not identify the lymphatic leakage site. Lymphoscintigraphy using filtered (99m)Tc sulfur colloid showed minimal focal activity in the lower chest. A correlative sing...
